These Terms of Service govern fit.golf (formerly Clubfit.golf), the free golf club fitting tools operated by GolferX, Inc. By using this site you agree to these terms.
GolferX, Inc. participates in the affiliate program of 2nd Swing through the Awin affiliate network. When you click an affiliate link on our site and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Our recommendations are produced by a rules-based fitting engine from the information you give us: mainly your swing data (measured or estimated), plus your handicap, any preferences you state (for example a preferred brand, which we rank first), and, if you connect it, your TheGrint scoring history. We also favor a mix of brands among the top picks. When products score exactly the same, we say they are tied and order them by a neutral rule, never by brand or by their place in our catalog. For drivers, the engine also uses spin, launch and descent targets learned from pooled fitting data (within fixed limits) and, once enough golfers with a similar profile have rated their fittings, a small, capped adjustment based on how helpful those golfers found each driver. That adjustment can only change the order of drivers whose fit scores are close.
No brand or retailer pays for placement. Affiliate commissions, purchases made through our links, which retailer sells a product, and retailer prices or stock are never inputs to the engine. The written explanation with your results is generated by an AI model (Anthropic) from the engine’s output.
fit.golf is an educational tool that provides equipment recommendations based on the swing data you submit. It is not a substitute for a professional in-person club fitting. We make no guarantees regarding performance improvements from any recommended equipment. Individual results depend on many factors beyond equipment selection.
Product specifications shown on fit.golf are compiled from manufacturer-published data, retailer listings, independent reviews and tests, and community-contributed data. Ratings such as launch, spin, forgiveness and fit are our own editorial characterizations, not manufacturer specifications. Prices shown are manufacturers’ suggested retail prices (MSRP) as of our last catalog update, not live retailer prices, and we do not show retailer stock. Specifications and prices may be out of date or contain errors. Shop links take you to our retail partner (currently 2nd Swing), sometimes to a search or category page rather than a specific product, and the actual price and availability are set by that retailer.
The tools are free. In exchange, when you import a launch-monitor report link that contains two or more sessions (currently TrackMan) and pick a session, each session’s equipment label and average measurements (club and ball speed, smash factor, spin, launch and attack angle, descent angle, apex height, carry and total) are copied, without any name, email, account or session ID, into a pooled dataset that we use to adjust the spin, launch and descent targets of our driver recommendations for all golfers. Equipment labels come from your report’s session tags, keeping only equipment words (brands, models, lofts and club types), so a name typed into a tag is not kept. This happens only after you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Numbers you upload as a file, type in, or import from a single-session link are used for your fitting but are not added to this dataset; they are kept in your fitting session record for 90 days, as described in the Privacy Policy. Every completed fitting is also counted, without any identifier, in pooled “golfers like you” statistics.
This anonymized use is part of using the service, and there is no separate opt-out. The Privacy Policy describes what fitting data we store, how long we keep it and how we use it.
Because records in the pooled dataset carry no account or session identifier, we have no reliable way to tell which came from you, so we generally cannot trace or delete them individually. This does not apply to your fitting session record. That record is tied to a random session ID, expires after 90 days, and can be deleted sooner on request when it is linked to an email address you gave us (for example, when emailing your results).
Once anonymized, this pooled data is owned by GolferX, Inc. and may be retained and used to operate and improve our services and — only in aggregated or derived form (statistical insights, benchmarks, and trained models) — commercialized or licensed to third parties. We do not sell or license individual, record-level observations as standalone data. We do not attempt to reidentify anonymized data, and anyone receiving aggregated or derived data is contractually bound not to either; see Our Commitments on Anonymized Data. This commercial use applies only to measurements we receive on or after September 1, 2026, based on the date our systems logged them rather than the date the launch-monitor session was recorded.
